Your rights — including against us
This page exists so you can evaluate any credit company in the United States, ours included. If any of this is missing, do not sign.
Before hiring credit repair in the U.S. you have the right to: receive a written statement of your rights, a written contract describing services and timeline, cancel within 3 business days at no cost, and pay nothing before services are performed. Separately, the FCRA guarantees you can dispute inaccurate information for free, on your own, with a 30-day investigation window.
1. Nothing can be charged before delivery
The CROA prohibits a credit repair organization from charging or receiving any money before fully performing the promised services (15 U.S.C. §1679b). That covers enrollment fees, "analysis fees" and any creative name.
When the sale happens by phone, telemarketing rules add even stricter conditions on when payment may be collected.
2. Written contract and a 3-day right to cancel
The contract must describe the services, the estimated timeline, the total price and the terms. You have the right to cancel within 3 business days of signing, at no cost and with no reason given. The cancellation form must come with the contract.
3. Nobody can promise to remove accurate information
Information that is true, current and within the reporting window cannot be removed. Anyone promising to "clear any account" is making a deceptive claim — and the law prohibits both making that claim and advising a consumer to make one.
It is also prohibited to advise you to alter your identity, use another identification number, or create a new credit file. That has a name: fraud.
4. You can do all of it yourself, for free
Your three reports are free at AnnualCreditReport.com, the only site authorized by law. Disputing is free and you can do it yourself: the CFPB publishes the steps and sample letters.
Our service is convenience, method and follow-through — not exclusive access to anything. Any company claiming a "special channel" with the bureaus is lying.
5. The bureau has a deadline to investigate
After a dispute, the bureau must generally investigate within 30 days — up to 45 when you submit additional information during the process. If the information cannot be verified, it must be corrected or deleted (15 U.S.C. §1681i).
6. Florida adds state-level rules
Beyond federal law, Florida has its own rules for credit service organizations, including prohibited practices (§817.7005) and the duty to give the consumer an information statement before the contract (§817.703), plus bonding and account conditions. A state exception does not displace federal rules: both apply at the same time.
- "Pay the enrollment fee today and we start tomorrow"
- "We guarantee +100 points" or any exact number
- "We remove anything, even bankruptcy"
- "Do not talk to the bureaus, we handle it another way"
- "Use this other identification number to start fresh"
- "No contract needed, we do everything over WhatsApp"
Questions about rights and legality
Is credit repair a scam?
The activity is legal and regulated. What exists in the market is a lot of companies operating badly: charging upfront, promising results and firing off groundless disputes. The way to protect yourself is to require a written contract, a 3-day cancellation right, and billing only after delivery.
Can I sue a company that breaks these rules?
The CROA provides for liability when its rules are violated, and consumers can file complaints with the CFPB and the FTC. To evaluate a specific case, consult a licensed attorney — we do not provide legal advice.
Is Buldora required to give me that statement of rights?
Yes, and we provide it before any contract. This page is the public summary; the formal statement comes with the proposal, in writing.
What happens if I lie on a dispute?
It is a crime. Claiming fraud without evidence or denying a debt you recognize can carry criminal consequences and, practically, sink the financing you are pursuing. We do not work that way and do not accept those requests.
